History of the association

Hunting society "Vepar" Orahovica was founded on July 27, 1947. years. When it was founded, it had 18 members and managed a hunting area of ​​4987 hectares. The hunting ground was located in the lowland part of the Orahovica municipality. Pheasant, grouse, roe deer and rabbit were hunted in abundance. At that time, there was even an obligation for hunters to shoot a certain number of rabbits for the benefit of the state. In addition to guns, rabbits were also hunted with nets. Since 1962, the area of ​​the hunting grounds has increased to 6,632 hectares of lowland hunting grounds with the settlement of NOK-Našice, and the number of hunters has increased to 46. members. By changing the "Law on Associations" on July 15, 1997. hunting company "Vepar" ceases to work and L.U. "Vepar" Orahovica.

Association today

The hunting association is located in Virovitica-Podravina County on the border with Osijek-Baranja and Požega-Slavonia counties. The association manages two hunting grounds, namely X/118 Orahovica, with a hunting area of ​​6,072 hectares, and hunting ground X/8 Orahovačka planina, with a hunting area of ​​5,838 hectares. We currently have 85 members, which according to the statute is the maximum number that the association can receive, and at the same time the association is divided into 4 working groups with approximately the same number of members.

The most abundant game in the hunting grounds is red deer, roe deer and wild boar, and from small game ducks, pheasants and quail. Every year, deer and roe deer of trophy value and wild boars are shot in the association as much as is allowed according to the LGO.
